I came across some information about the concept of minimalist shoes. Build up foot and leg strength and get biofeedback with each footfall.
I bought my first pair of Xero shoes and slowly worked up to wearing them all day at work and then eventually walking three miles a day in them. It didn't come easily but I distinctly remember the first day ai wore the shoes and realized that every footstep hurt and I was walking differently to try and fix that. The feedback mechanism was working.
I don't have the leg and foot pains anymore. I've had my first pair of Xeros in November of 2021 and I still wear those same shoes almost 2 years later.
